Pomeranian History

The Pomeranian comes from the Prussian province of Pomerania. It's believed to be descended from the prehistoric Canispa/ustris. The poleranian was, for centuries, a guardian and a sheepdog, but became a companion dog during the Renaissance period, when it started being recognized for it's good nature and beauty.

Pomeranian Description

The Pomeranian is an intelligent and lively dog, and cheerful with his owner; but has an alarming bark for strangers. Pomeranians are very obedient watchdogs. The Pomeranian has a very beautiful thick coat which may be either white or red without markings. Pomeranians requires frequent grooming with a brush having short, hard bristles. Once source notes that as they age, areas of baldness may appear. Pomeranians typically range from 3 to 7 pounds. Pomeranian puppies may require a little extra TLS since they are often born smaller and weaker than in other breeds.
